Overview & Responsibilities
As Solution Architect you´ll be responsible for IT & Digital enterprise architecture definition and evolution. You will be responsible for overseeing, improving, and upgrading enterprise services, software and hardware. Mapping business processes into systems will be also part of your responsibility. You will also need to stay on top of the latest trends and technologies on cloud and keep an eye out for any software and services that might improve business processes.
The Solution Architect role requires complex thinking and strategizing to ascertain which legacy systems can be updated and migrated to public cloud, what software or hardware can be replaced, and which services or products will support business operations across each department. Solution Architects work across the organization, determining the needs of a range of business units and processes. It’s a role that requires strong communication and analytical skills to ensure that business units have the right tools to be successful.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform a variety of tasks. Lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports to CIO/CTO. Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • The Optical Field Level Engineer with assist during in the link phase of the optical equipment.
  • Commissioning & acceptance of the different phases of vendor's work.
  • Lead the Operational phase.
  • Project Management: Participate in the planning and execution of projects related to the implementation or upgrade of optical infrastructure, ensuring that established timelines and budgets are met.

Tus responsabilidades incluirán:

  • Resolver incidencias, completar solicitudes de servicio o iniciar el soporte desde equipos remotos y/o en el lugar de trabajo.
  • Identificar procedimientos apropiados de resolución de problemas utilizando información específica del cliente.
  • Ser el POC (Punto de Contacto Único) dentro del proveedor de servicios para el origen de la incidencia.
  • Contactar al usuario / cliente por teléfono o correo electrónico cuando la incidencia se haya resuelto o la solicitud de servicio se haya cumplido.
  • Coordinar el progreso durante todo el ciclo de vida de la incidencia. 
  • Informar al departamento de Gestión de Nivel de Servicio sobre incidencias identificadas, posibles incumplimientos de SLA y proporcionarles información sobre las incidencias procesadas y las solicitudes de servicio.
Se ofrece contrato temporal de 6 meses más posibilidad de contrato indefinido posteriormente. El salario será según convenio  y variará según proyecto. Posibilidad de teletrabajar hasta un 80% del total de la jornada mensual.

- Resolve incidents, complete service requests or initiate support from remote and/or onsite support teams.
- Identify appropriate problem-resolution procedures using customer-specific information.

- Contact incident originator via telephone or e-mail when the incident has been resolved or service request has been fulfilled.
- Enthusiastically coordinate progress throughout the entire lifecycle of the incident.
- Report Service Level Management about identified incidents, potential SLA breaches; and provide them information about the processed incidents and service requests.

A 6-month temporary contract is offered plus the possibility of an indefinite contract later. The salary will be according to the agreement and will vary according to the project. Possibility of telecommuting up to 80% of the total monthly work hours.

CubeSat Systems Engineer

The i2cat Foundation is looking for a CubeSat Systems Engineer to join our Space Communications Research Group.

The SpaceComms Group is currently participating in different activities that conform to the New Space Strategy of Catalonia. This strategy aims at promoting the space ecosystem in the catalan region and developing novel technologies that reach the market to boost private and public initiatives. Among the different activities that are planned in the strategy, the research and development ones are key to achieve the strategy goal.

The area is conducting different projects in its New Space research programme, centered in pillar technologies: (1) integration of satellite systems in 5G infrastructure to conform NTN; (2) contributions to Software Defined Networks deployments in satellite constellations; and (3) developments of Inter-Satellite Link technologies. The research programme envisions to validate these developed technologies in dedicated CubeSat missions, that can additionally provide novel services to the catalan region.

As a CubeSat Subsystems Engineer at i2CAT, you will participate in the conceptualization, design, and implementation of CubeSat missions with a focus on advanced telecommunications payloads, including 6G technologies. This position is crucial to the Space Communications department's mission of advancing in the research of satellite communication technologies.

The responsabilities of the selected candidate:

  • Provide technical support throughout all stages of a CubeSat mission, including the planning phase and subsystems design and integration.
  • Define precise specifications for CubeSat subsystems and draft of the corresponding technical requirements.
  • Participate in the development of FlatSats, ensuring that all subsystems and components function seamlessly together in a simulated ground environment.
  • Provide support to the Space Comms department's research activities, aiding in the advancement of 5G/6G space communication technologies.
  • Assist in the management of CubeSat missions, ensuring their proper integration and operation with the ground infrastructure of the department and with the payload users.
