Optical Field Level Engineer

Telecommunications company based in Barcelona.

• The Optical Field Level Engineer with assist during in the link phase of the optical equipment.


• Commissioning & acceptance of the different phases of vendor's work.


• Lead the Operational phase.


• Project Management: Participate in the planning and execution of projects related to the implementation or upgrade of optical infrastructure, ensuring that established timelines and budgets are met.


• Installation and configuration of optical equipment: Configure and deploy optical network equipment such as optical switches, etc in the network infrastructure.


• 
  
  Preventive and corrective maintenance: Perform periodic maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise, such as troubleshooting connectivity problems, optical alignment adjustments, etc.


• 
  
  Cross-departmental collaboration: Work closely with other teams, such as network engineering, technical support, sales and project management, to ensure the integrity and smooth operation of the optical infrastructure.

The opportunity to participate in new communications deployment.

• Education: Telecomunications engineering or experience that proves the acquisition of the required knowledge.


• Experience: a minimum of 5 years experienced field engineer for commissioning, acceptance and operation of optical equipment as Fiber Portals, Wave Portal, SLTE and DWDM equipment.

It is required a proven experience using OSA testing equipment for measurement and characterization of long-haul DLS.

Experience in SLTE (submarine DWDM) commissioning and configuration will be a plus

Also proven experience in NOKIA and ASN equipment will be a plus.

• Language skills: English advanced mandatory. French and/or Arabic will be an asset.


• Travel availability: Around 25% travel along the different countries in the Mediterraneum (European and African). All travels will have diets for day payments a part of all travel and hospitality expenses covered.
