Process Engineer

A multinational company in the food sector with a production plant in the area of Tarragona is looking to hire a Process Engineer to improve production processes, focusing on quality and optimisation. You will work in a Lean culture and implement improvements through Lean methodology.

The Process Engineer will assume the following responsibilities:

• Support Quality for food formulation changes including raw materials supplier changes (Food trials, SCRs, new recipes) to ensure equipment can transform raw materials to produce quality food.


• Responsible to ensure area processes are running according settings.


• Responsible to define Start up check list, SSOPs and SOPs according with Safety, Food safety and Quality local and global policies.


• Support & improve the operational & food transformation capability in operations (Process area).


• Work mostly in financial and innovation domains to achieve targets / goals of the plant.


• Safety foundationals and results regards to the procedures definition.


• QA and FS results: Consumer complaints, Defects / holds, MQFS, BRC, G6, SSOPs, SOCs, FSI, OOS regarding the food transformation & procedures definition.


• OEE results - Machinestops - Defects found (Breakdowns).


• Ensure execution for Production plan.


• Understand and owns product transformations and impact on finished product.


• Skills cards/matrix updated, Training & functional qualification for Operators.


• Provide input to raw material changes, projects, trials and innovation.

The Process Engineer will meet the following requirements:

• Chemical Engineering or CFGS (Química Industrial, Industrias de proceso químico, Procesos y Calidad en la Industria Alimentaria or equivalent).


• Experience in a similar role in a industrial food company.


• Experience in process operations skills.


• Experience in data processing & problem solving skills.


• Experience people coaching and teamworking skills.


• Experience in Lean Manufacturing will be a plus.


• Fluent in English language (B2)
