International Regulatory & Safety Manager (Cosmetic Industry)

Company dedicated to the development and manufacturing of health and personal hygiene products requires the incorporation of an International Regulatory & Safety Manager for one of its production plants located in Tarragona area. The mission will be to provide global updates on regulation affecting the personal care category and other products including biocides ingredients.

The International Regulatory & Safety Manager will have the following responsibilities:

• Active follow up and anticipation to new regulations within the European frame and other International markets ,as well as established guide lines in the Personal Care area (IFRA,…)


• Build and upgrade existing and new internal company Policies in terms of ingredients and product safety.


• Follow up on the regulatory submissions by REACH and any potential discussions and negotiations with the internal clients, final costumer and authorities.


• Daily reports and Weekly reports to R&D Director.


• Cooperation with Marketing, Product Development/Formulation and Operation/Purchase areas as internal advisor.


• Research about non European Cosmetic Regulations and anticipate to new European ones.


• Alert on possible risks based on regulation changes to be implemented on products on development.


• Verifies accomplishment in terms of ingredients and its percentage of concentration


• Coordinates clinical/challenges tests with external labs and validate their results.


• Suggest new product claims to R&D teams in cooperation with Scientific Communication area.


• Supervise PIF dossiers.


• Implement regular improvement on procedures and data monitoring.

The International Regulatory & Safety Manager must meet the following requirements:

• Master or Ph.D.degree in related fields valuable (Pharmacology,Toxicology,etc)


• Expert on cosmetic regulations and safety evaluation for finish products (Cosmetic, Biocides, Sanitary products).


• Experience in the Cosmetic field more than 4 years. Good knowledge of APPC.


• Familiarity with database systems used in the collection of consumer data (COPTIS or similar database).


• Valuable experience on clinical testing /interpretation of medical safety test data


• Working knowledge in formulation in any of the different cosmetic forms (aerosol, suspensions, emulsions, solidforms, gels…)is a plus.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• English and Spanish language skills. French as non mandatory.


• Location near Tarragona, Spain. (Non remote job position)
