DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK/TASKS

Under the supervision of the survey coordinator and in close coordination with team members, the main function and duties will be the assistance to the project Workers´Exposure Survey:

· Prepare the survey data for sharing in a data repository for researchers:

- manage the different data files, in particular combine different data
files (sav and csv formats), using the relevant statistical software;
- reflect on a relevant and useful format and appropriate content for
sharing the dataset, in particular cleaning the dataset from information
that is not useful for the purpose, and considering the final size of the
dataset;
- draft a short document explaining how to use the dataset;

. Analyse the data applying relevant statistical methods and techniques:

- carry out statistical analyses according to the analysis plan defined by
the survey coordinator and team, with the view of supporting the drafting
of publications and communication outputs planned for 2024;
- raise and discuss the advantages, drawbacks and limitations of the
methods and techniques proposed;
- contribute to the revision of the analysis plan with the supervisor and
the team members.


We expect the temporary support to regularly present the results of the work to the supervisor (orally or in writing) and to document all the steps and programs in writing, so that they could be replicated at any moment after the temporary support has left. If R is used, the main steps will need to be transcripted into SPSS syntax, as it is the main software used by the team members.

Suggestions on statistical analyses are encouraged and welcome on an on-going basis.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:
· Degree in statistics or similar/ Grado en estadístico/a, estadístico/a
aplicada o similar.

ESSENTIAL:
· Very good statistical and data analysis skills.
· Very good proficiency of SPSS and/or R (or similar statistical software
or programming language).
· Experience in carrying out the tasks described above: preparing a dataset
for sharing with data users, statistical data analysis following a plan
and taking into account the output, explaining, arguing and discussing
different options for analysis, documenting the different steps carried
out.
· Detail- and quality-oriented person.
· Satisfactory knowledge of English (equivalent to B2 level).
· Capacity to work well in a team, and also independently.
· Good interpersonal skills, and adaptability skills (to different working
methods, people and areas of work).
· Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel and
Word.

ASSETS:
· Experience in health statistics, epidemiology, exposure data,
occupational safety and health.
· Experience of cross-country data analysis.
· Experience of an international/multicultural environment.
