Hunting data treasures is the way of life of Data Pirates, the data group of Leroy Merlin Spain inside the Digital Tech & Data area.

The Data Governance Manager will be part of the Data Office in Leroy Merlin Spain inside the Digital Tech & Data Area. Reporting to the Chief Data Officer her/his mission will be the creation, implantation and evolution of the Data Governance and Data culture area, being responsible for all the aspects needed to success: people, methodologies, strategy, projects delivery…

The Data Governance Manager will have the autonomy to create and define the area from scratch, so we are looking for someone proactive, practical and ambitious, who shares the challenge (and responsibility) of becoming Leroy Merlin in one of the more advanced companies in Spain regarding data to provide best-in-class data products to our business

Some of the key aspects to develop by the Data Governance Manager will be:

- Data governance Vision & Mission: designing and deploying our strategy for the next few years.

- Data governance core activities: Data Catalog and Dictionary creation, Business terms definition, methodology…

- Data Trust: creating a data quality framework and developing an “unique data” (Master Data) vision.

- Data sharing: Building mechanisms to encourage reusing data.

- Culture actions and Data Community: making easy the knowledge and access to data in all the corners of our company.

- People care: Grow, challenge and coach the team to make them one of the best data governance team in the Spain

• >10 years experience in data projects, with at less 3 of them as a Data Governance Manager.


• Capacity to accept the challenge of designing and implementing a Data Governance area from scratch


• Fluent in English


• Experience working with Data Governance software (Collibra, Bluetab, Informatica..)


• Proactive and business oriented mindset

• Cloud and Agile experience

  • Experience with Data projects in retail in multinational environments
  
  
  • Certifications focused on Data Governance and management (i.e certGED, DAMA,)
