The main responsabilities are:

• Participate in developing a breeding programme to create a long-time vision based on the latest market developments, to develop a variety indicated in a generally described instruction with specified properties


• Participate in carrying out breeding programmes


• Participate in selecting plants based on the indicated objectives and by visual evaluation and analytical evaluation


• Participate in planning variety trials and test


• Register and analyse observations, results and conclusions


• Participate in adjusting breeding programmes


• Stay up to date with (scientific) developments with respect to breeding, market and legislature

• Master or university degree preferably with speciality plant breeding


• Desirable 1 year of experience as a Junior Melon Breeder or Assistant Melon Breeder


• Advanced level of english
