Senior Mechanical Engineer

• Lead engineer of a solution development.|Improve product designs.

International company.

• The role will require working at times in both the product development and turnkey (TK) solution engineering teams.


• To design products within the boundaries set by the design for payback business case such as key requirements, product cost, development cost, and development time lines.


• During concepting stage complete tasks like competitor research, establishing product range, design for manufacture & reliability, developing relevant calculation models, consideration of modularity and standard parts, structured for ease of configuration by TK engineering.


• If developing automated product designs, works with the automation engineers to develop control, user interface, integrated cable and sensor routings.


• Uses AutoCAD, Solid Works, PDM and other tools to create product designs.


• Follow group design processes and conventions including coordinating cross function collaborative design reviews.


• Support and lead a culture of cross function design collaboration to improve product designs.


• Spend time in the factory and onsite building and commissioning product designs.


• Mentors and teaches specialist knowledge like hygienic design principles to other engineers.


• International travel is required.

Career development.

• Engineering degree with at least 10 years' experience as a mechanical design engineer.


• At least 10 years' experience with solid works and some experience with 2D auto cad .


• Very experienced in designing industrial machines for the food industry according to hygienic standards.


• Very experienced in designing industrial machines for manufacture.


• Experience with designing to meet international standards like European standards, 3A and EHEDG hygienic guidelines.


• Experience in designing complex material handling equipment is beneficial.


• Experience in integrating materials handling and food processing equipment into manufacturing plants is beneficial.


• Self-starter, values team work, and enjoys working in a collaborative way.


• Ability to grow into leading other engineering, for example as lead engineer of a solution development.


• Proven complex problem-solving abilities.
