Responsibilities:

  • legal support in all types of commercial leasing transactions, running the gamut from initial negotiations to renewal and termination;

  • guiding client through the process of contracting with architects, developers and other construction professionals in completing a lease buildout;

  • negotiating with landlords, property owners (funds) and developers, drafting, and reviewing lease renewals, amendments, early-out settlements and termination agreements;

  • assisting client with subleases and assignments;

  • responsible for proper performance and management of lease contracts performance;

  • ensure fulfillment of services, maintenance, repair and other elements promised by the landlords:

  • helping client to resolve lease disputes, including claims involving breach of the lease agreement;

  • participate in real estate analysis and due diligence preparations.

Requisitos mínimos

Requirements:

  • admitted to local bar association/completed all required trainings to be fully licensed lawyer;

  • minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience with the real estate/commercial leases department with the law firm or private client; experience at retail company is a bonus;

  • very good writing skills;

  • rigor and attention to detail;

  • dynamism and team spirit; business oriented - close cooperation with Expansion and Property team;

  • ability to work under pressure with several lease contracts at the same time;

  • ability to work solely with no external law firms support unless in exceptional cases justified by the workload and accepted by General Council;

  • bilingual (Spanish and English is a must);

  • reporting line: General Council for the group.
