Senior Automation Engineer

• Product development|Redesign core products to be more reliable and intuitive

International company.

• Work in a cross functional mechanical and automation team to develop best of breed peripherals machines


• Follow the group product development process and the standards that group use.


• Use best practice code structure and design using standard blocks of code where possible.


• Document the designs so that they are easily understandable by the rest of the department's colleagues. e.g. labelled sensor/actuator layout, Machine state drawings, state tables, state transition tables, etc.


• Take responsibility for the product design and supporting its development to a stable product.


• Contribute knowledge to growing best practice within the automation team and do this in a team spirited way, enjoying the great culture within the engineering and operations team.


• Software is written for Spanish and English technicians to provide local tier 2 support.


• Some international travel is required.

Career development.

• Automation Engineering Degree or similar.


• A good knowledge of other machine technologies e.g. pneumatics.


• More than 10years of PLC and HMI design experience in industrial machines. Experience in electrical design using Eplan software would be beneficial.


• More than 10 years' experience in electrical and safety regulations design (to the IEC Regulation)


• Very experienced with the design of industrial machine automation, and importantly have designed PLC and HMI systems for machines with medium to high annual global sales (>50 per year).


• Self-starter, values team work, and enjoys working in a collaborative way.


• Ability to grow into leading other engineering, for example as lead engineer of a solution development.


• Proven complex problem-solving abilities.


• Discipline to work with company processes.


• Strong internal and external customer focus.


• Spanish and English Language.
