This position is totally TRANSVERSAL with the possibility of getting to know many sites/countries, many Business lines, and many ways of doing.
It is also enriching to deal with all other organizations in the Company as our stakeholders: Operational Quality, Industrial means, Manufacturing Engineering, Design, Production, Tooling, Finance, Program Directorate, …
As Metrology Manager you will have the opportunity of enlarge a balanced ability for getting deep into the technical aspects at the same time that you enrich your management capabilities: Quality, Time and Cost management drives our job.

Mision: Ensure Metrology Management of measurement equipment providing evidence of product conformity, according to Airbus DS requirements and its intended use.
Maintaining measurement equipment in a proper condition: identified with metrology status, within calibration due date, calibrated by approved sources and trough approved procedures according to each specific requirement in order to fulfill requirements for its intended use
Manage Calibration Plan in QUALITY, on TIME and on COST

Description of the job
We are looking for an Engineer or Sciences Degree with experience in Metrology, calibration, manufacturing, assembly and special processes.
The activity is very transversal in terms of sites and technologies that cover from FAL´s to sheet metal and composites manufacturing plants, but also, in terms of organizations and MFT to be part of as measurement and metrology leader
The position requires a good balance between a high technical expertise in Metrology in the diverse scope of technologies

Main Activities

Ensure Calibration Plan is stablished and accomplished.
Attends internal, external and customer audits
Assure applicable requirements are defined and applied in Metrology Control. These requirements include, those to be applied before calibration (definition of stake holders, proper handling, precision to reach, calibration procedure, cal lab), during and after calibration (reviewing results against acceptance and fail criteria and agreement of status if necessary)
Analyze calibration failed results to drive changes needed to make global results under tolerance
Audit Metrology suppliers and calibration lab´s in order to evaluate that they fulfill AIRBUS DS requirements including those very specific for very particular intended use in aeronautic industry.
Manage budget corresponding to sites/Programs to subcontract Metrology services and calibrations. This activity includes ability to estimate first (requesting and collecting all information available) and monitor during the year, in order to avoid deviations to each budget
Agree with internal clients and fulfill calibration lead times for equipment as a key point of client requirements and satisfaction.
Lead and manage his/her team according to “our leadership model” promoting agility and personal development.
In addition, coordinate with external service.

Participate in national and international boards representing our company.
Lead projects to improve in terms of Quality, time and cost using benchmarking, innovation, workshop and MFTs as basic tools to define the way to reach the objective
Concerning individual activities:

Acting as a technical specialist in the field of assigned technologies and scope.
Maintain technological awareness in the assigned technology domains.
Contribute to the preparation of technology roadmaps from projects needs and technology survey.
