• Embedded Sensors Systems Researchers

The researcher will join the Functional Printing & Embedded Devices department. The Functional Printing & Embedded Devices Department delivers groundbreaking solutions based on materials and functional devices. The department knowledge and expertise allow us to manage the hole TRL system, from the formulation of the technology concept until the demonstration of the system prototype in operational environment. The department areas of expertise are functional inks and printing thin-film devices to obtain flexible devices with the capacity to adapt to practically any type of surface owing to their form factor and their characterization. Furthermore, we work on PCB and hybrid electronics design, development, and manufacturing.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will work on printed electronics to use in flexible devices and/or integrated microfluidics systems.

• Evaluating the state of the art


• Designing with CAD software or similar


• Knowing microfluidics devices prototyping techniques


• Physical and chemistry characterization of materials and/or printed sensors (electrical, optical and morphological characterization techniques)


• Analyzing and presenting the research results


• Writing the technical report

REQUIREMENTS

• Ms or PhD in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology Engineering, Biology, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• The candidate has worked before developing microfluidics devices


• The candidate expertise in designing with CAD software or using design simulation software (COMSOL, Microfluidics module, etc.)


• The candidate experience in sensors development and characterization (optical, electrochemical, etc.)


• Printing techniques and surface treatment knowledge


• Lab – on – chip knowledge


• The candidate experience in chemical reagents


• Languages: Strong English and Spanish skills
