Our client, an important American multinational in the automotive sector, needs to incorporate in its division specialized in the manufacture of plastic components, located in Granollers:

R&D MECHANICAL ENGINEER (automotive)

Reporting directly to the Innovation Manager Europe their main functions will be:

FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

* To provide support to the Innovation Manager in local projects.
* New product development, performing all related tasks, ranging from the creation of creative concepts and research of new technologies, the conversion of approaches into CAD to the planning and realization of product validation.
* Creating innovative concepts and driving activities to find new ideas using analytical tools and mindset as well as creativity and mentality tools to find the best solution.
* Plastic compatible 3D CAD design, including the creation of drawings of components and assemblies according to design, installation space and specifications.
* Using and/or coordinating sophisticated engineering methods such as creating gear designs using a calculation program, kinematic simulation in Catia V5, CAE/FEM simulation of load distribution to match concepts to high performance solutions.
* Create, organize and perform/coordinate concept verification tests ranging from basic first print, printing using 3D printed samples to validation of key DVP tests with prototypes. WE REQUIRE:

* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (specialized in Plastics Technology) or equivalent experience.
* More than 3 years of experience in engineering and design. Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
* Advanced skills and experience with CATIA V5.
* Advanced knowledge and experience in project management (international and/or cross-functional).
* Knowledge of plastic injection molding, assembly and tooling technology.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
* Analytical mentality with a high sense of detail.
