The I2CAT Foundation is looking for a post-doc researcher with proven experience in Multimedia Systems and Computer Networks to apply for a MSCA Fellowhip in order to work on Multimedia Systems. More information about MSCA Call here.



The applicant is expected to have deep theoretical understanding and practical expertise in these fields, mainly focusing on: adaptive media delivery; multimedia protocols; network architectures; media synchronization; and playout adjustment techniques. The goal is to apply these key topics in the development of next-generation multi-media systems, in order to maximize the Quality of Service (QoS) and the perceived Quality of Experience (QoE). The areas of applicability will include distributed multi-conferencing, eXtended Reality (XR), and Immersive TV systems.


The candidate will be integrated in a consolidated team, with proven experience in these topics and in leadership of related EU projects. The work of the applicant will contribute to the tasks of active projects, but most importantly, to consolidate and advance the state-of-the-art in the mentioned areas.


The candidate must have a strong team mentality and willing to develop the research in a collaborative environment, with regular interaction with the rest of researchers in the team and with cross-disciplinary teams from other departments and partners.


The work carried out will be subject to novel proof-of-concepts and products, to knowledge transfer, to standardization and to high-impact publications.


The candidate should have proven experience and achievements, ideally including a strong publication track record.

Indicative timeline

  • May 2022: Grant agreement signature for successful projects (TBC)

  • April 2022: First EU-funded projects start (TBC)



Requisitos mínimos

Minimum requirements:


  • PhD title in related topic. Candidates must have a maximum of eight years experience in research, from the date of the award of their PhD degree

  • Not having lived or worked in Spain for more than 12 months in the last 3 years

  • Programming skills

  • English professional proficiency

  • Writing and presentation skills

  • Communication skills

  • Teamwork

Nice to have:


  • Catalan or Spanish will be a plus

  • Experience in competitive research projects will be a plus
