Descripción del empleo

The selected candidate will join the MWI group to work on the design, implementation and development of IoT solutions and their evaluation in real environments. The contracted person is expected to have a resolute attitude and ability to make decisions at the development and research level.

The selected candidate will work on projects of the IoT group both at European and national level focused on improving mobile element positioning solutions. In this sense, the work carried out will be applied to the following areas:

· Location and positioning solutions in interiors based on IoT technologies. Evaluation and implementation of systems based on the use of one or more technologies, such as UWB, inercial sensors or BLE, that allow to improve indoor accuracy and that can be used as assistance/support for the guidance of autonomous vehicles (AGVs) and the traceability of objects or people. We will work on improving and providing new features to solutions that i2CAT is already developing.

· Optimization of wireless sensor devices. We will work on two lines. On the one hand, we will investigate the improvement of battery-powered IoT devices from the energy point of view to increase their autonomy, with special focus on the optimization of hardware and communication technologies. On the other hand, it will investigate in the application of algorithms and mechanisms at the local level that exploit the capacity of devices with limited performance to improve decision rush and obtaining advanced information through the sensorization of physical parameters.

· Implementation (software and hardware) of prototypes and demonstrators. These demonstrators will be developed and validated under realistic conditions applied to cases of location use.

· Implementation (software and hardware) of prototypes and demonstrators. These demonstrators will be developed and validated under realistic conditions applied to cases of location use.

· Preparation of documentation and deliverables of the project. As a result of the work carried out, the project documentation will be written.

The role requires proven mastery and experience in the design and development of firmware and software for IoT devices. The contracted person is expected to be able to work autonomously on advanced efficient and optimized IoT solutions.
