Compliance Manager - FMCG

Multinational company in the FMCG Industry with Europe HQ in Spain

Reporting to the Financial Control Director, your main responsibilities will be:

Actively monitors the performance of key controls and processes to identify deficiencies for early remediation;

Manages compliance related to SOX regulations;

Provides status updates to Management on the annual SOX program as well as all relevant compliance issues identified;

Responsible for maintaining the Risk & Control Matrix (RCM) for the organization, keeping it aligned with the COSO framework;

Performs walk through with Control Owners and updates the flowcharts/narratives;

Contributes to update accounting policies and standard operating procedures for the business;

Manages the implementation of SOX programs for newly acquired business units;

Determines closing and reporting best practices done within our markets and establishes a road map in order to apply them as standard policies, together with Finance control team;

Contributes to finance group projects as needed;

The role includes communication with different levels of management, our subsidiaries, as well as our mother company based in the US;

Liaise with Management, Internal Audit, and External Auditors to provide input, clarification and resolution to issues/questions that arise.

We are looking someone with a Bachelor Degree in Finance/Economics, with background in audit/risk firms, and then experience in Compliance/Internal Control in a final company. 5 years of experience at least, with a Post-graduate studies in Accounting or Finance. The knowledge of SOX is a plus within this role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, especially Excel, excellent level of autonomy, organizational skills and attention to details. Really strong in interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing. English fluency and with availability to travel around a 20% of the time.
