Android Developer

i2cat Foundation is seeking for an Android Developer to join the Software Engineering Group.

As an Android developer the candidate will need to cover all the stages of software development lifecycle: requirement/functional analysis, architecture, planning, development, testing, validation and documentation of an Android application, integrated with a backend though his REST API.

The candidate should be proactive foreseeing risks, proposing and implementing best practices and proposing the best integration mechanisms with backend services.

Additionally, it will be necessary to attack Firebase services like Cloud Messaging, Analytics and Crashlytics.

Main responsibilities of the position will be:

• Develop native Android applications in Java with modern SDKs


• Integrate Android apps with external services using REST + JSON APIs


• UI/UX design for native Android applications

The succesful candidate will work in an already existing team, together with an international partnership.

Minimum requeriments:

• 5+ years of experience developing native Android applications in Java with modern SDKs


• 5+ years of experience integrating Android apps with external services using REST + JSON APIs


• Strong knowledge in Android ecosystem libraries and tools: Google Play Services, Firebase, etc.


• Strong knowledge in UI/UX design for native Android applications


• Experience with git as version control tool, including Gitflow

Desired requeriments:

• Experience with Agile Methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)


• Knowledge with iOS development in Swift language
